Position: Project Delivery Engineers, Agbara & Oregun

Number of openings: 2

Employment type: Permanent

Function: Supply Chain

Purpose of the Role:

Delivery of all capital projects in Agbara under Unilever engineering services’ scope

Job Description:

  • Designing and Managing the installation of equipment and machines on site; plus the construction of new buildings, roads and major building renovation works.
  • Ensuring projects are executed according to the agreed time scales and Cost and Budget structures.
  • Ensuring all projects are executed to agreed specifications and plan.
  • Managing third party installation contractors to ensure that all jobs are executed safely in line with Unilever standard safety regulations.
  • Developing project strategies that will deliver conformance to plan and CCFOT.
  • Ensure safe and efficient layout of building, plants and equipment with adequate consideration of utilities and other infrastructure requirements in line with the company growth objectives.
  • Ensure that input to the company capital projects meet the agreed technical, health and safety requirement.
  • Ensure drawing and offers from third parties are in line with the requirement of specification.
  • Reports on actions proposed and implemented on all company’s capital project.
  • Prepare process layout and arrangement drawings.
  • Carry out the designs and necessary drawings associated with the project.
  • Carry out suppliers/contractors competency to participate in company capital project and make recommendation.
  • Prepare enquiry documents; raise purchase requisition and orders on all company capital projects.
  • Carry out inspection and factory acceptance test of all externally sourced equipment to conform to both statutory and Unilever requirement.
  • Develop, train, and support the factory nominated personnel on the new project to bridge identified skill gaps.
  • Participate in commissioning and start up operations of the new projects.
  • Prepare company project specification for tendering.
  • Advice the project manager on relevant technological design changes that affect the business.
  • Participate in the preparation of brief, interpreting the company’s requirement into technical proposal.
  • Ensure all capital project invoices are verified against progress before payment is authorized.
  • Put control measure in place to check prices, workmanship and delivery of equipment in line with Unilever standard.
  • Enforced safety, health and environmental standard on all capital projects.
  • Deliver 25m Euros approved project in year 2012.

Minimum Requirements/qualifications:

· B.SC or B.Eng in Mechanical engineering from any reputable university

· 3 to 4 years experience practical experience in similar role in an FMCG manufacturing company.

· Relevant experience in Project management

· Hands-on experience in use of AutoCAD skill

· Highly Analytical skills with passion for growth

· Good Interpersonal and Communication skills

· Confidentiality, HIGH integrity and ability to work with less supervision.

2.

Position: Project Delivery Engineer, Mega DC

Number of openings: 1

Employment type: Fixed-term Contract

Function: Supply Chain

Purpose of the Role:

Designing and provision of working drawing for project delivery engineers

Job Description:

  • Daily supervision of work on site and taking of key decisions that will progress the project in line with PDM instruction.
  • Ensuring the project is executed according the agreed milestones thereby keeping time scales for delivery.
  • Ensuring the project is executed to agreed specifications issued by PDM and structural engineer by ensuring conformance to design specification and site instructions
  • Jointly responsible for the Management of sub-contractors to ensure that all jobs are executed safely in line with Unilever standard safety regulations.
  • Jointly developing project strategies with PDM that will deliver conformance to plan and value engineering cost avoidance on the project.
  • Jointly Design and Managing the installation of equipment and MHEs on the projects.
  • Jointly monitor project spent in comparison to Cost and Budget structures.
  • Implement the mechanical and electrical services design by PDM on site,while also considering the utilities and other infrastructure requirements in line with the project key deliverables.
  • Ensure that input to the company capital projects meet the agreed technical, health and safety requirement.
  • Ensure drawing and offers from third parties are in line with the requirement of specification.
  • Reports on actions proposed and implemented on all company’s capital project.

  • Deliver 18m Euros approved Mega DC project BY April 2013.

Minimum Requirements/qualifications:

· B.SC or B.Eng in civil or mechanical engineering from any reputable university

· 3 to 4 years practical experience in similar role in FMCG manufacturing company

· Relevant experience in Project management

· Hands-on experience in use of AutoCAD

· Highly Analytical skills with passion for growth

· Good Interpersonal and Communication skills

· Confidentiality, HIGH integrity and ability to work with less supervision.

Position: Project Delivery Draughtsman

Number of openings: 1

Employment type: Permanent

Function: Supply Chain

Purpose of the Role:

Designing and provision of working drawing for project delivery engineers

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and providing detailed working drawings for the delivery engineers.
  • Provision of drawing for efficient installation of equipment and machines.
  • Planning and setting out plant and equipment placement.
  • Check compliance with approved drawings by third party contractors.
  • Ensuring that projects are executed according to agreed time scales.
  • To assist in safety matters; issuing of permit to work and carrying out supervision of projects on site.
  • Prepare pictorial drawings and sketches to illustrate site instructions.
  • Managing and improving productivity through provision of plans and solutions to all projects snags.
  • Assist in the day to day running of engineering project administration and documentation (PRs, GRRs,PPPs and project contracts template.
  • Updating of drawings as necessary to Engineers’ instructions.
  • Control of filing relevant drawings and phasing out obsolete ones.
  • Preparing alternative layout prior to layout decisions

Minimum Requirements/qualifications:

· Hands-on experience in use AutoCAD for drawings

· 2 years practical experience in similar role in FMCG manufacturing company
